ChuckleBerry's Paper Card Company began as an online family venture. We wanted to create a fun company that could get a fun product to people everywhere. Since our background was in cartooning we decided to take a crack at the greeting card market. Being online allows us to sell paper cards to book shops in Rhode Island, hospitals in Texas, gift shops in Hawaii and school stores throughout the United States. We have been able to do that without ever having hired one salesman or knocking on any doors.

The Internet has brought opportunity to OUR door. Our clients find us while surfing the World Wide Web. Because our customers are online and can obviously use a computer, many of them order directly from our online catalog without having ever seen one of our cards or having gotten a catalog.

We set a price on our cards when we opened our doors and have kept that our price even today. We look forward to the day when our volume increases enough that we can eventually lower the cost of our greeting cards. Our cards wholesale for $1.25 each which includes shipping and handling! That means you get the card, the envelope, the shipping material to mail, the time involved to ship and the postage all for a buck twenty-five!

We're afraid that we would have to increase our prices if we printed a catalog at this time. There is the printing cost and the postage cost just to mail each catalog. In the year and a half since we posted our online order form for a catalog we have received 900 requests for a catalog! That's awesome! The only problem is that we do not a sales staff that can follow up on 900 stores to make sure our catalog is effective. So, to add a catalog we would have to add a sales staff. More costs, higher prices.

We feel there are numerous advantages to having an online catalog.

2. There's no catalog to get lost
3. It never goes out of date
4. We can update it in an instant and add cards daily
5. You see it instantly, no waiting on the mail service
6. You can order from it instantly with the click of a mouse
7. We save a few trees
8. Discontinued cards can be pulled, no back orders
9. You can order online in your underwear
10. No salesman is going to show up at your door (not yet anyway)

We do have plans on releasing a printed paper catalog with our most ordered 100 cards in the near future. We would like to establish more online ordering before we release our catalog. If you have comments or ideas please let us know. We will also be releasing a printable PDF catalog that you die hard paper catalog customers can print and read while in the (fill in the blank).
